CONTAINERISED CARGO

Regular scheduled LoLo ships are currently operated on the New North Quay by two shipping/haulage companies. Both offer regular cargo shipping services to and from the UK to the Channel Islands, depot to depot and doorstep delivery.

Channel Seaways provide services from Poole in Dorset to Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney.

Ferryspeed provide services from Portsmouth to Jersey and Guernsey.

Building on our excellent business partner relationship with the Ports of Jersey, Solent Stevedores provides quayside crane operations (Liebherr LHM250), forklift loading and unloading (Kone 20ton FLT, Kalmar 16ton FLT, Kalmar 40ton Top Loader), re-lifting cargo to and from customer transport and tenanted depot.

Most impressive is our management of the New North Quay LoLo facility itself. Including production and implementation of Traffic Management Plans, Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Plans, along with provision of Freight Gate Security in accordance with ISPS requirements and management of Cargo Storage and collation of appropriate Storage Charges, we assist the Ports of Jersey in every element of facility management and government.

Roll on, Roll off (RoRo)

Solent Stevedores provide a comprehensive service to the twice-daily conventional RoRo vessel turn arounds, operated by Condor Ferries. These vessels, arriving from Portsmouth via Guernsey and a once a week return service to and from St Malo France, provide a lifeline service to the Channel Islands.

PASSENGER SERVICES

The Ports of Jersey East and West berth RoRo ramps at the Elizabeth Terminal facilitate the discharge and loading of road going commercial freight carrying ambient and temperature-controlled consignments, mail to and from the Island and other items including the export of the famous 'Jersey Royal' potatoes and other local produce.

As space is limited at the Quayside, storage facilities are not available - incoming freight is collected on arrival by shippers and distributed directly, or through their Island depots.

Condor Ferries also offer a year-round fast ferry passenger and freight service between the Channel Islands and France. Along with exclusive line handling services for all vessels in excess of 30m in the Port of St Helier, Solent Stevedores also services the modern Condor Ferries fast passenger ferries at the Elizabeth Terminal. Our services include baggage handling, vehicle marshalling, towing of baggage and freight pods, and quayside gangway operations.
